7 school principals suspended due to irregularities in mid-day

Principals of seven schools here have been suspended on charges of irregularities in distribution of mid-day meals, an official said today.

During an inspection, the Primary Education officer found that despite the absence of students on some days, seven primary and secondary school principals had shown on paper that mid-day meal was distributed.

The meals' ration and conversion cost were pocketed by the principals, district coordinator of mid-day meal, D Bhaskar said.

Action has been taken against the principals and they were suspended with immediate effect, Bhaskar said.

Those suspended are Sadhana Devi (Atarhat), Arvind Kumar (Udaipur), Gita Kushwaha (Dubariya), Ramesh Prajapati (Tani ka Purva), Mahesh Gupta (Nizami Nagar), Susheel Yadav (Usra Purva)and Santosh Kushwaha (Haldi Purva), he said.
 

A detailed inquiry has also been ordered, Bhaskar added.
