At least seven workers were trapped today after a highway tunnel collapsed during construction in southwest China.
The accident occurred in a tunnel along the Zhipu expressway of Guizhou Province, a 51-kilometre highway under construction in the province.
Bijie city, where the tunnel is located, has sent rescuers to bring the trapped workers out.
The cause of the collapse is not yet known, but it had been raining before the accident, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
