A seven-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a man who took her away while she was sleeping with her family in the veranda of the house, police said today.
The mother of the victim, a resident of Sarai Khwaja here, said there was no electricity in her house yesterday night and so she along with her children was sleeping in the veranda of the house, said a police spokesperson.
The woman said in the night she heard her daughter crying. The girl told her that an unknown man took her to the nearby bushes and raped her, he said.
A case has been registered in this regard and police are trying to trace the accused, he added.
