In a very rare case in veterinary practice, a 700 gm tumour was surgically removed from the abdomen of a dog at State Veterinary Hospital, Naharlagun.
The tumour comprised 10 per cent of the total body weight of the dog which is equivalent to 6 to 7 kg in case of human beings.

It took about 3 hours to remove the tumour from the abdomen of the dog, official sources said today.
"It was a very rare case and a happy moment for us as the tumour didn't damage the internal organs like kidneys, liver etc. So the chance of survival is very high provided the animal got good post-operative care," said Ojing.
