As many as 702 candidates have cleared the Indian Engineering Services (IES) examination in the results declared today by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
While 233 of these have been recommended for appointment in civil engineering, 150 would be placed in mechanical engineering.
Also, 181 candidates will be sent to electrical engineering with 138 to be posted in electronics and telecom engineering, said a release by the Ministry of Personnel.

The total number of vacancies reported by the government for IES was 770.
The written examination for IES was held in June last year and the interviews for personality test were conducted over December, 2013-January, 2014, it said.
