Over 71 per cent voters exercised their franchise in the polling of Deuri Autonomous Council and Thengal-Kachari Autonomous Council today.
According to an official release by the Assam State Election Commission, 76.03 per cent people voted for 18 seats in the Deuri Council.
In Thengal-Kachari Council, 71.93 per cent of the voters used the ballot to elect representatives in 22 constituents.

Deuri Council has 40,735 voters, while the other Council has 76,488 voters, the statement said.
The counting for the two Councils would take place on December 17.
