75 dead in northwest C Africa fighting: military source

At least 75 people have been killed in around 10 days of fighting in the Central African Republic near the border with Chad, an official with the African peacekeeping force said today.

The clashes around two towns in the northwest of the troubled country pitted fighters from the former rebel Seleka coalition against members of the Fulani tribe, the source said on condition of anonymity.
