Altogether 75 candidates were in fray after the scrutiny of nomination papers for the fourth phase of Lok Sabha election in West Bengal scheduled for May 7, state's CEO Sunil Gupta said here today.
Six Lok Sabha constituencies going to the poll in the fourth phase are Jhargram, Midnapore, Purulia, Bankura, Bishnupur and Asansol.
"At the end of scrutiny of nomination papers in this phase today, 15 candidates were in fray from Bankura and 14 were from Asansol, followed by 13 from Jhargram, 12 each from Midnapore and Purulia, and nine from Bishnupur parliamentary constituencies," he said.

Meanwhile, 92 candidates have filed their nominations for the fifth and final phase of the Lok Sabha election to be held on May 12, Gupta said adding that filing of nominations for this phase will continue till April 24.
