77.12 pc turnout for Dholpur Assembly bypoll

A total of 77.12 per cent turnout was witnessed in the by-election for the Dholpur Assembly seat held yesterday.

Highest polling of 98.80 per cent was recorded at Haidalpur polling booth whereas the lowest turnout of 59.33 per cent was witnessed on Pandit Umadatt Vidhyalaya polling centre.

On 231 polling centres, a total of nearly 1.48 lakh voters exercised their franchise.

Officials said that on 78 polling centres, over 80 per cent polling was done.

Re-polling at a booth in the Dholpur assembly seat, where technical glitches had occurred during voting yesterday, will now be done on Tuesday, Dholpur collector Shuchi Tyagi said.
