78 wrestlers to participate in competition at Gurgaon

As many as 78 wrestlers from different states will participate in a three-day freestyle wrestling competition 'Bharat Kesri Dangal', beginning tomorrow in Gurgaon.

It is being organised by the Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Department to commemorate the martyrdom day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev.

Giving this information, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Anil Vij said as many as 44 wrestlers from Haryana, seven from Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB), eight from Services Sports Control Board (SSCB), nine from AIU, four from Delhi, three from Punjab, one each from Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh would participate in the competition.
 

During the competition, 46 matches would be organised for first and second round, 16 for third round, 20 for fourth round and league match and 8 for semi-final and final match.

He said the winner of the 'Dangal' would get a cash prize of Rs one crore, first runner up would get a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh and the second runner up wrestler would be awarded a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh.

Similarly, the wrestler securing the fourth position would get incentive money of Rs 10 lakh, Rs five lakh for securing fifth position, Rs three lakh for securing sixth position, Rs two lakh for securing seventh position and Rs one lakh for securing eighth position.
