A 78-year-old man was allegedly beaten by his nephew's wife and daughters over a land dispute in Rajasthan's Jalore district, police said today.

Police swung into action after a purported video of the incident, which occurred on March 9, got circulated on social media networking sites.

"One of the girls shot the video," SP Kalyanmal Meena said.

The video purportedly shows Bhiyan Ram being dragged and beaten by his nephew Babulal's wife Elesi Devi and daughters Mamta, Rajeshwari and Kavita, police said.

They said the incident occurred when Ram objected to Babulal farming on a piece of land. They were both sitting on a tractor and the victim was dragged by them from the vehicle.

An FIR has been lodged against the accused under relevant sections of IPC and Babulal was arrested yesterday, police said.

SHO (Chittalwana) Bhanwar Singh said Ram is undergoing treatment at a hospital for the past two days.
