A 79-year-old man, who was accused by his domestic maid of molesting her, allegedly committed suicide in southeast Delhi's Amar Colony area, police said today.
The man locked himself in a room yesterday and consumed a poisonous substance, police said.
A few days back, the deceased was accused by his 17-year-old maid of molesting her, they added.
She had filed a complaint against him and alleged that he had molested her on December 25 when nobody was at home, they said.
A case under sections 354 (molestation) and relevant sections of POCSO was registered against the man, they added.
It is suspected that the man was depressed about the case, they said.
No suicide note was found and police is questioning the family members to determine the exact cause of suicide.
