The 7th Edition of Raasrang World Flute Festival will celebrate the UN International Day of Peace with performances by flautists from Latvia, Slovakia and Italy.
The even is being hosted by Krishna Prerna Charitable Trust in collaboration with UN Information Centre for India and Bhutan and Indian Council for Cultural Relations.
"In these violent and fragmented times, it is important to celebrate peace and highlight the work of peacemakers. So this year we are organising the festival with the theme 'peace, love and water' through music," said Arun Budhiraja, the convener of the event, which begins tomorrow.

"We share certain commonalities with music and instrumentation with Eastern Europe and Southern America. So the festival is also an attempt to expose Indian classical music to these countries. We hope to take this festival overseas too," Budhiraja said.
At a special opening concert last evening, the festival featured German flautists Martin Ney and Gabriele Ney and Latvia's Riga Saxophone Quartet.
