8 boys, 5 girls qualify in Syed Modi singles main draw

India's next crop of talented shuttlers were engaged in a slugfest with 8 boys and 5 girls qualifying for the main draw of the Syed Modi Grand Prix Gold, which will get underway here tomorrow.

In men's singles, Amit Sharma, Shubham Prajapati, Kandarp Chaubey, Bhaskar Chakraborty, Alap Mishra, Dhruv Kumar, Aneeth Kumar and Ashish Sharma reached the main draw of 64.

In women's singles, Deepali Gupta, Amolika Singh Sisodiya, Gauri Asaji and Vaidehi Choudhari entered the main draw.

In men's doubles, Rushikesh Mali and KN Rajesh, Kapil Chaudhary and Chandrabhusan Tripathi, Vikrant Chawat and Prem Singh Chouhan along with Rohit Raturi and Mohit Tiwari reached the main draw.
 

In mixed doubles, Purshottam Awate and Nimmi Patel, Ketan Chahal and Mohita Sahdev, Dhruv Kapila and Jakkampudi Meghana, Tushar Sharma and Tapaswini Samantaray advanced to the main draw. There were no qualifying matches in women's doubles.
