Eight candidates have remained in the fray after the nomination paper of BJP's covering candidate Chhering Dorjey was rejected today from Ladakh Lok Sabha constituency.
The scrutiny of the nomination papers of all the candidates was done by the Returning Officer and District Magistrate, Leh Simrandeep Singh in presence of the General Observer Naveen Mahajan at Conference Hall at Leh today.
The candidates who are left in the fray include Tsering Samphel (Indian National Congress), Thupstan Chhewang (BJP), Syed Mohd Kazim (Independent), Anayat Ali (Independent), Mohd Amin (Independent), Ghulam Raza (Independent), Mohd Hassan (Independent) and Mohd Abbas (Independent), spokesman said.

The nomination papers of Chhering Dorjey, covering candidate of BJP, was rejected on the ground that the first nomination paper filed by Thupstan Chhewang was accepted.
The last date for withdrawal of candidature is 23rd April. Allotment of symbols will also be finalised on the same day.
