At least eight children were injured while playing with crackers in separate incidents in Odisha's Balasore district today, police said.
While the first incident occurred at Sanadhandadi village, the other incident occurred at Raisuan village, the police said.
Both the incidents took place due to careless handling of half-burnt firecrackers after Diwali celebrations, said Inspector in-Charge of Basta Police Station Dhaneswar Sahu.

Seven boys were injured at Sanadhandadi village in Kuradiha area when they set fire to a pile of half-burnt crackers they had collected, he said.
In a similar incident at Raisuan village under Basta block, an 11-year-old boy sustained burn injuries, he said.
All the eight boys were taken to the district headquarters hospital here.
It may be noted that an explosion in an illegal firecracker manufacturing unit at Bahabalpur in the district on October 18 had left 11 people dead and four others critically injured.
