A Krishnagar court today sentenced eight persons with life imprisonment for beating a photocopy shop owner to death and assaulting his two relatives in Nadia district over seven years ago.
Additional District Judge Biplab Roy sentenced the eight after convicted them of various offences including those for killing the shop owner, looting his shop and injuring his two relatives on November 22, 2010.
According to prosecution, the accused beat up the owner of a photocopy shop in Nakashipara over a petty issue and looted the shop on November 22, 2010.
When two of the shop owner's relatives came to his rescue, they too were also beaten up.
