Eight persons--five women and three children--were killed and three seriously injured when a vehicle carrying them collided head on with another vehicle and fell into a 300-feet deep gorge.
All the injured persons have been brought to Hamirpur hospital for treatment.
Rescue and relief teams have rushed to the spot and the bodies of the victims are being recovered.
Rescue teams had hard time in conducting the rescue operations as it was pitch dark in the gorge where the vehicle fell, police said.
