8 killed in Karachi

At least eight people were killed today in Pakistan's biggest city, with five of the bodies bearing torture marks.

According to details, four bodies with torture marks were found from a desolate location Memon Goth in Malir area.

"All four were shot dead," a police official said.

The Memon Goth area is notorious for poppy cultivation as most of it is agricultural land.

The driver of a Pakistan Navy official was also shot dead in Defence housing authority during a botched up snatching attempt at a signal.

They were contradictory versions of the incident with one police official claiming the driver was shot dead by mistake. According to another version, four motorbike-borne men had come for target killing of the Naval officer at Khayaban -e-Rahat signal.
 

In another incident, a head constable was shot dead near Sindh Government hospital in Korangi area.

A body bearing torture marks was also recovered from the city's Zaman Town area.

In a separate incient, a person was killed in a firing incident in Orangi Town's Data Nagar.
