Eight members of a family, including two minor girls, were killed and two others injured when their car rammed into a stationary truck near a village in Beed tehsil this morning, police said.
The truck driver had parked the vehicle on a road near Namalgaon village after one its tyre got punctured, traffic inspector M A Sayyad said.
While the cleaner was changing the tyre at around 5.45AM, the driver of the speeding car lost control over the vehicle following which it rammed into the stationary cement-laden truck, Sayyad said.

Six persons died on the spot and two others succumbed to their injuries during treatment at Beed district civil hospital, police said.
The two seriously injured persons were referred to SRT hospital of Ambajogai, they said.
The deceased were identified as Sayyad Salim Sayyad Abbas (54), Sayyad Karim Sayyad Ali (37), Sayyad Majar Sayyad Janulla (48), Sayyad Sultana Sayyad Karim (32), Sayyad Sanaj Sayyad Salim (42), Sayyad Jubia Sayyad Mujib (2) and Sayyad Alisha Sayyad Karim (8), all residents of Ambajogai tehsil in Beed, and Shaikh Jeba Shaikh Azrodin (37), hailing from Sonmati of Latur district, hospital authorities said.
A case has been registered against the truck driver for negligence, Beed rural police said.
