8 persons killed in two accidents in J&K

At least eight persons, including two children, were killed and five others injured today in two accidents in Rajouri and Kathua districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

In the first mishap, five persons were killed when a Santro car, heading towards Mendhar in Poonch district from Jammu, skidded off the road and rolled down into a gorge at Bilogra in Rajouri district, said a police officer.

Four people died on the spot while another passed away on way to hospital, the officer said, adding that the deceased included two children.

He said operation to recover the bodies is on.

In the other incident, an ambulance vehicle, which was on its way from Katra in Reasi district to Ludhiana in Punjab, met an accident at Chadwal Morh in Kathua district, police said.
 

Three persons died and five others were injured in the mishap, police said, adding that the injured have been hospitalised.
