The suspension was effected following the departmental probe, he said.

The supporters of Singh had caught hold of one of the attacker Sarbjit Singh and thrashed him badly.

Police had arrested two other accomplice of Sarbjit and recovered arms and ammunition while a woman was also been detained for interrogation in this regard.
