An 8-year-old girl has been raped allegedly by her neighbour in Vijay Nagar area here, police said today.
According to the police, on the night of July 13, the girl was sleeping with her parents when one Arvind scaled the house's wall and abducted her.
Arvind took the girl to an isolated area and sexually assaulted her on Saturday night.
She was found by passersby on the Sunday morning.
Girl's parents today registered a case against Arvind at Vijay Nagar police station, police said, adding that the accused is absconding.
"Medical examination of the girl has confirmed rape. We are investigation the case and Arvind would be arrested soon," said a senior police officer.
