An eight-year-old girl today drowned after falling into a canal while she was playing with her dog in east Delhi's New Ashok Nagar area, police said.
The girl, who stays in the area, had taken her dog out for a walk. She was playing with her dog near the Kondli canal in the area during which she lost her balance and fell into the canal, they added.
After she did not return for a long time, her parents started searching for her and later her body was found from the canal, police said.
No case has been registered in the matter, they said.
