An eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour here, police said today.
The victim's mother in a complaint said their neighbour, Brijesh, yesterday lured her daughter to his house on some pretext.
The woman went to look for her daughter when she did not return home for hours. She alleged that she caught Brijesh raping the minor girl, police said.
The accused has been booked under Section 377 of the IPC and Section 4 of POCSO Act, and arrested, SHO Rajinder Singh said.
In another incident, a 17-year-old girl has accused her friend of raping her on several occasions over a year.
The victim, in a complaint to police, alleged that Akshay (22) fed her sedative-laced food and then raped her.
The accused made an MMS of the act and threatened to post it on the internet if she denied him sexual favours, police said.
The girl approached police when the accused sent the video to her brother on whatsapp.
A case has been registered against the accused under sections 376 and 506 of the IPC and Section 4 of POCSO Act, SHO Bharat Hush said, adding that the accused has been arrested.
