Mizoram Excise and Narcotics Department officials have seized 83 grams of heroin and arrested four people, an official spokesperson today said.
The spokesperson Peter Zohmingthanga said that the officials seized eight grams of heroin in Mizoram-Myanmar border Zokhawthar hamlet in Champhai district yesterday and arrested Laldawngkima (32) and Laltlanmawia (31) both of Bungzung village in Champhai district in this connection.
Lalnuntluangi (29) of Zokhawthar village was arrested by the department officials at Seling village in Aizawl district for alleged possession of 63 grams of heroin while Lalthankhuma (44) of Tahan in Myanmar was nabbed in Aizawl last night for alleged possession of 12 grams of heroin.
The four accused persons were booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
