84 private member bills introduced in LS

Setting up of a Board for protection of indigenous cow and its progeny, ban on spitting in public places and ending ragging in educational institutions were among the 84 issues over which private member bills were introduced in the Lok Sabha today.

The bill on setting a Board for protection of indigenous cow and its progeny was moved by D M Patel of BJP.

He also introduced a bill seeking constitution of a board for regulation of private coaching centres.

Kirit P Solanki (BJP) introduced two bills -- one for prohibiting use of surnames and the other for medical investigation before marriage.
 

The bill seeking to prohibit spitting in public places in order to keep them clean was introduced by Pralhad Joshi (BJP).

Rajeev Satav (Cong) introduced a bill for establishment of circuit benches of the Supreme Court at Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata.

K P Singh Chandel (BJP)came up with a bill for setting up a permanent bench of Supreme Court in Hamirpur in Uttar Pradesh.
