85 laptops meant for distribution among students damaged in UP

At least 85 laptops which were meant to be distributed among class 12 students were damaged in Gola town here, as rain water leaked into the room they were kept in.

District authority has ordered a probe by Additional District Magistrate.

"85 laptops are reported to have been damaged due to the rain water, which entered into the strong room in Gola town, where they were kept," District Magistrate Manisha Trighatia told reporters.

"A total of 1,170 laptops were kept in the room, out of which 85 machines reportedly got wet yesterday. All the machines have been ordered to be inspected and will be replaced," she added.
 

ADM Vidya Shankar Singh had been asked to probe the matter and find out those responsible for it, she said adding that action would be taken, if needed, in the matter.
