Altogether 86 candidates have filed their nominations, with 29 on the last day today,for elections to six Assam Lok Sabha constituencies in the third and final phase polls scheduled on April 24.
The highest number of 21 nominations have been filed for Gauhati parliamentary constituency followed by 18 in Barpeta, 15 in Dhubri, 13 in Mangaldoi, 10 in Nowgong and nine in Kokrajhar, according to the Returning Officers of the respective constituencies.
The prominent candidates who have filed their nominations for the third phase are sitting BJP MPs Bijoya Chakravarty from Gauhati, Rajen Gohain from Nowgong and Ramen Deka from Mangaldoi, AIUDF'S Badruddin Ajmal from Dhubri, Congress MP Ismail Hussain from Barpeta and Kokrajhar's sitting MP S K Bwiuswmuthiary as an independent after being denied ticket by Bodoland Peoples Front (BPF) which nominated state Transport Minister Chandan Brahma.

The scrutiny of the nomination papers for the third phase will be held on April seven and the last date of withdrawal is April nine.
