Nine children, eight engaged as labour in hazardous conditions in shops and one forced into begging, were rescued from different parts of the city today during a surprise raid conducted jointly by the Anti-Human Trafficking Cell and NGO Child Line.
The children were produced before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) that sent all of them to two separate shelter homes.
According to the Circle Inspector, Anti-Human Trafficking Cell of Kota, Kaniz Fatima, eight children were rescued while they were working in hazardous conditions at separate shops, hotels and stalls in Nayapura police station area.

Personnel from Anti-Human Trafficking Cell and members of NGO Child Line had been keeping a watch over these children for the past couple of days and the joint raid was carried out today noon, CI Fatima said.
A meeting of Child Welfare Committee (CWC) would also be called on Friday to decide the further action about the rescued nine children. The employers of these nine children would also be booked, she said, adding currently investigation into the matter is underway.
