At least nine members of a family were killed and as many injured in a head-on collision between a three-wheeler and an oil tanker in Northern Bangladesh.
The accident occurred early yesterday on Bogra-Nogorbarhi Highway at Garhdah's Bokultola in Sirajganj district, police said.
The three-wheeler was carrying 17 members of a family. They were going to Dhaka to attend a family event, Sub-Inspector Shahjadpur Police Station Abdul Jalil said.

Five people were killed on the spot as the three-wheeler turned turtle whereas four others died on their way to the hospital, Jalil was quoted as saying by the bdnews24.
The injured have been admitted to various local hospitals, he added.
The accident also disrupted traffic on the highway for three hours.
The oil-tanker has been seized but its driver and his assistant have fled, police said.
