Nine persons including two children were today killed and 12 others injured when a truck hit the vehicle they were travelling in on Gulawati road in Sikandrabad area of Bulandshahr district, police said.
The incident took place around 6.30 AM when the people were returning in the tempo after attending a fair in Sikandrabad, they said.
Those killed were identified as driver of the tempo, Vipin (20), Mangeram (30), Naresh (18), Madhu (18), Meenu (10), Rani (19), Bablu (28), Kashish (10) and Yogendra (23).
The injured have been rushed to the hospital where their condition was stated to be stable.
Accused truck driver Vikram has been arrested by the police.
