9 trainee IPS officers test positive for swine flu in Hyd

Nine trainee IPS officers at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy here have tested positive for swine flu.

"They were all admitted to different hospitals in the city. Three of them have already been discharged. Throat swabs were taken from all trainees who complained of cough/cold/ fever," an official release said here today.

It said vaccines had already been administered to 917 persons on the campus, including the trainees, workers, faculty and families. As many as 2,764 dosages of homeopathic medicine were also given.

A team of doctors from the Ranga Reddy district of Telangana today conducted a sensitisation programme about H1N1 virus infection for trainee IPS officers and others.
 

Jyoti Buddha Prakash, commissioner of Health and Family Welfare, Telangana, was monitoring the situation.
