A nine-year-old girl committed suicide today by hanging herself from the ceiling at her south Delhi residence, the police said.
The police were informed that a girl was brought dead to the Safdarjung Hospital.
The deceased was a Class 6 student of the Government School in Sarojini Nagar.
The body was inspected and ligature marks were found on the neck.
The mother of the girl found her hanging from the ceiling with the help of a nylon rope and a towel, the police added.
No foul play was suspected, the police said, adding that they were probing what led the girl to take the extreme step.
