The sowingofRabicropshas reached the final stagein Chhattisgarh where91per cent ofsowingof variouscropsin the ongoing seasonhas been completed, an official said today.
"The farmers have completedsowingofRabicropson around 16.70 lakh hectares of land against the proposed target of 18.30 lakh hectares in the state," an agriculture department official said here.
Food graincrops, pulses, oilseeds and vegetables are beingsownunder the target, he said.

At present, wheat has beensownon nearly 1.78 lakh hectares, maize on 64,000 hectares and rice on 1.30 lakh hectares, he said.
Notably, the target is to sow cereal crops on 4.07 lakh hectares against which so far 3.78 lakh hectares of area has been covered, he said.
Besides, the department has proposedsowingof oilseed cropson 2.89 lakh hectares inRabiseason 2016-17.
So far,sowingof alsi, mustard, toriya, til, sunflower, kusum, peanut, and other oilseedcropson 2.43 lakh hectares has been completed.
Vegetables have been cultivated on 1.65 lakh hectares while the sugarcane plantation was completed on 30,000 hectare area in this season, the official added.
