92 banquet halls, hotels operating in Jammu without permission

Over 90 banquet halls, hotels, resorts and farm houses are operating in the city without permission and No Objection Certificates (NOC) from the state government, Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh said.

As many as 92 banquet halls, hotels, resorts and farm houses used for marriage functions are operating without permission and NOCs from the state government in Jammu city, Singh said.

As per the data revealed by him in the recently concluded Assembly session, these establishments are operating due to cases being subjudice before the High Court.

Similarly, four other such establishments are operating due to being cases of subjudice in the court of law.
 

However, 46 such establishments are operating after being granted permission and NOCs by Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and Jammu Development Authority (JDA), he said.

According to the data available, the status of the land on which 80 such establishments have come up is not known,

One such banquet hall-Sangam Palace has come up on state land belonging to State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) and Hotel Premier has come up on Auqaf land on lease,the data revealed.
