971 visa applications of Sikh devotees rejected

In an official statement issued here, the SGPC stated that 971 visa applications were rejected by the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi without assigning any reason.

A group of Sikh devotees led by SGPC were supposed to visit Pakistan on November 28 to observe the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev at Nankana Sahib in Pakistan, besides paying obeisance at various other historic Sikh shrines located at different provinces of the country.

SGPC said this time 1,860 devotees applied for visas and out of which, 971 were rejected and 889 were given visas to visit Pakistan.
