Nomination papers of 98 candidates in 10 Lok Sabha constituencies and 716 nominees in 70 assembly segments for first phase polling in Odisha were found valid after scrutiny, official sources said tonight.
Of the total 100 candidates who filed nomination papers for 10 Lok Sabha seats, two nominations were rejected while nomination of 77 candidates had been found invalid in 70 assembly seats, they said.
While nominations of highest number of 15 candidates were valid in Kalahandi Parliamentary constituency, lowest 5 candidates remained in Nabarangpur Lok Sabha seat.

Similarly, highest 24 candidates nomination was valid in Narla assembly seat in Kalahandi district, only five candidates remained in Jharigram assembly segment in Nabarangpur district.
The date for withdrawal of nomination papers was scheduled tomorrow, they said.
