The 90th birthday of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was today celebrated as 'Sushshan Diwas' across Uttar Pradesh.
MPs, MLAs, senior BJP leaders and workers participated in 'Swachhta Abhiyaan' throughout the state even as seminars defining good governance were held here.
Union Ministers from the state participated in various programmes in their parliamentary constituencies.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh was scheduled to reach Lucknow today, but the programme was cancelled.
To celebrate Vajpayee's 90th birthday, 90 diyas were lighted at BJP state office in the evening.
