Consciousness: Art of Neeraj Goswami" by Arun Ghose and published by Agra-based Sanchit Art Gallery was also published to coincide with the show.
"I am happy a book has been written on the spiritual element in my art, this appreciation keeps me surviving" says Goswami, who is based in the national capital.
Writer Ghose said, "A lot many people have written about lot many artistes, some of them are contemporary artistes as well. And I thought of writing about Neeraj Goswami because he is a very spiritual person.
"He is able to visualise his own spiritual development and translate that in line and colour on his canvas. In other words, here is someone who has tried to develop his self consciousness based on which he continues to paint," said Ghose.
"There is no one in this country at the moment who is seriously engaged in that level of art" said Ghose who as an ex-curator of "Festival of India" had organised important exhibitions of contemporary Indian art abroad including M F Husain's "88 Oils on his 88th Birthday and "The Lost Empire".
