Police today arrested a drug peddler and recovered 5 gm of heroin from his possession.
The peddler had been identified as Buta Singh, a resident of Jheengra village of SBS Nagar district, Superintendent of Police, Phagwara Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh said.
Police arrested the peddler during a routine check in Navi Abbadi Narangshahpur area, Khakh said.
The peddler has been charged under sections 21/61/85 of NDPS Act, he added.
