A man arrested for swindling

A man was arrested today for allegedly posing as an RBI officer and swindling money from a job seeker promising him employment.

The man, a resident of Titagarh in neighbouring North 24 Parganas district was arrested following a complaint lodged with the police that he had allegedly taken Rs 2.5 lakh from the complainant's son by promising him a job at Indian Oil Corporation, Kolkata police said.

The man was arrested when he went to the complainant's office during the day to take the money, the officer said adding.

He had sent some documents, including fake identity cards allegedly issued by RBI to the complainant's son.
 

Investigation into the matter is on, the police added.
