One of Delhi's most wanted men, who carries on his head a reward of Rs 50,000 and his associate, have been arrested in connection with several cases of murder, robbery, threatening witnesses and escape from jail has been arrested, police said today.

According to the police, Neeraj Paul, alias Dheeraj, alias Rahul (25), and Pradeep, alias Chairman, (28) were arrested from G T Karnal Road after a brief encounter yesterday following a tip-off about their movements.

Police have recovered one 9mm pistol with three live cartridges, one country-made pistol and a motorcycle from them.

"Neeraj is among 10 top criminals of Delhi. He had escaped from judicial custody in March while he was being produced in a court for committing robbery in a jewellery showroom. He then started threatening the eye witnesses not to depose before the court against him and committed crimes like contract killings, robberies in Delhi and NCR," said Additional Commissioner of Police (Outer) Sanjay Kumar.

In 2011, he was arrested for looting a jewellery showroom at Rohini. Then too, he had escaped from judicial custody with the help of his wife while he was being produced in Rohini court, police said.

"Neeraj's aide Pradeep has also been involved in more than 20 heinous crimes during 2001 to 2013," said Kumar.
