A slice of Pakistan's lifestyle comprising food, fashion, art, music, textiles, furnishing and agro products among others will be showcased at the second edition of 'Lifestyle Pakistan' exhibition scheduled to begin here tommorow.

The exhibition organised by Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) in collaboration with FICCI after the popular response to its 'Lifestyle Exhibition' here in April 2012.

The four-day exhibition is scheduled to take place at one of the largest trade fair venues here -- Pragati Maidan -- from September 11-14 with over 250 exhibitors of a vast array of Pakistani fashion, textiles, jewellery, accessories, home textiles, furniture, carpets, marbles, granite, agro products and service sectors.

The Indian High Commission in Islamabad has issued as many as 350-400 visas to Pakistani businessmen to participate in the show.

"In the 2012 exhibition, a total of 96 leading brands from Pakistan showcased their top quality exportable products. From the very first day, response of the Indian trade community and consumers was overwhelming, and there were around 100,000 visitors during four days of event," Rabia Javeri Agha told PTI.

Agha says this year a larger number of exhibitors, business delegates and new sectors such as music, couture, and food would be included. The TDAP stall has been designed by a group of students from the Asian Institute of Fashion Design.

"...We hope to create synergies between students and educational institutes in India. We are also bringing Citizens Archive of Pakistan (CAP) interactive exhibit to focus on our rich culture and shared history," says Agha.

The CAP exhibit is set to highlight achievements of 'Exchange for Change' a large oral history exchange programme that connects students on both sides of the border through letter and postcard exchanges.

A selection of Pakistani folk and sufi music through specialised playlists are available for sale.

Culinary delicacies from Karachi and Lahore apart from other cites in Pakistan are set to be part of the four-day showcase.

A separate Pakistani food week has been scheduled at the Hotel Lalit here. An art show would bring together works by various Pakistani artists at the same venue.

"Business of around USD 7 million was generated during the exhibition last time and future prospect deals of around USD 20-25 million were made during business meetings," says Agha.
