An organistion of powerful Asian- American hotel owners has congratulated Indian-American Congressman Ami Bera on being re-elected to the US House of Representatives in one of the closest congressional races from California.
"We are proud to support Congressman Bera, and we look forward to working with him to strengthen the hospitality industry and the small business community," Asian American Hotel Owners Association Chairman Pratik Patel said in a statement after Bera was declared elected from the seventh Congressional district of California.
Bera is the first and only AAHOA member and the only serving Indian-American in the US Congress.
First elected to the House of Representatives in 2012, Bera is the third ever Indian-American to be voted to the Congress after Dalip Singh Saund and Bobby Jindal.
