AAI Chairman appointed as ACI's regional vice president

State-owned Airports Authority of India (AAI) Chairman V P Agarwal has been appointed as vice president of the Regional Board of Airport Council International-Asia Pacific region.

While Agarwal has been appointed as the second vice president of ACI-Asia Pacific, Chairman of China's Beijing Capital International Airport Ltd, Dong Zhiyi has been appointed as the first vice president of the ACI Asia-Pacific regional board, a statement from ACI said today.

Announcing the appointments, which became effective immediately, Regional Director of ACI Asia-Pacific, Patti Chau said, "I wish to congratulate Dong and Agrawal on their appointments and on behalf of the President and other Regional Board Officers, welcome them onboard in their new positions. I am confident that with their industry experience and knowledge they will contribute greatly to the Regional Board."
 

The new appointments arose from the resignation of Prince Turki Bin Faisal Al-Saud from the Regional Board as first Vice President from May 1.

Dong, originally the second Vice President of the regional board, was appointed as the first Vice President while Agrawal, was appointed as second Vice President filling Dong's vacancy.

They will serve the unexpired portion of the term until May 2014, the statement said.

The ACI Asia-Pacific Regional Board is a governing body which determines the overall development strategy of ACI Asia-Pacific region. It, as of today, is composed of 22 aviation business leaders from across the Asia-Pacific region.
