AAI pays Rs 294 crore interim divided for fiscal yr end

Airports Authority of India (AAI) today said it has paid an interim dividend amounting to Rs 294 crore to the government for the fiscal year ending March 31.

The interim dividend has been paid after the national airports operator posted a net profit of Rs 1,959 crore in the April-March fiscal of 2014-15, AAI said in a release.

A cheque of Rs 294 crore was presented today to Minister of Civil Aviation Ashok Gajapathi Raju by the AAI chairman R K Srivastava towards interim dividend for FY15, a release said.

AAI has declared a dividend of Rs 391.85 crore for the fiscal 2014-15, it said.
 

Revenue during the period rose by 13.67 per cent to Rs 9,285 crore as compared to Rs 8,170 crores, it said.

The net profit also jumped to Rs 1,959 crore in the FY 2014-15 as against Rs 1,441 crore reported in FY 14, it said.

AAI has spent a total of Rs 4,358 crores during the last three years (2012-13 to 2014-15] on airport terminals modernization, enhancing passenger facilities and improving air traffic and navigational equipment, it said, adding it plans to spend Rs 1,973 crore this fiscal in similar works.

AAI has paid a total of Rs 918.70 crores as dividend in the last five years and has also contributed in the central exchequer a total of Rs 4,995 crore in different forms during the last three years apart from paying dividend, the release said.
