AAI team in Prakasam, Nellore to study airport feasibility

A team of officials from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) is on a visit to Prakasam and Nellore districts of Andha Pradesh to assess the feasibility for establishing airports there, State Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana said here today.

The team was visiting Donakonda in Prakasam district and Dagadarthi in Nellore district, neighbouring Tamil Nadu, for the purpose of feasibility study, he said.

The team would submit its report soon, the minister said in a statement here.

The Andhra Pradesh government has ambitious plans to develop three international airports and eight domestic airports. Presently, airports in AP are located at Vijayawada, Tirupati, Rajahmundry and Visakhapatnam.
 

The state government has drawn up plans to develop a Mega Industrial Park at Donakonda where it now proposes to develop an airport.
