AAP today accused the BJP and AIMIM of practicing "politics of hate" to ensure "polarisation" latching on to claims of a former BJP MLA about an understanding between Amit Shah and Asaduddin Owaisi prior to the last year's Assembly polls in Bihar.

AAP leader Sanjay Singh termed as "shocking" the claims made by former BJP MLA Jatin Oza in a letter to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The party demanded an "immediate clarification" from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Shah on the matter.

"The disclosures have established the popular belief that the BJP and AIMIM are in cahoots, indulging in politics of hate to sow seeds of disharmony in society, creating rifts between communities to ensure political polarisation.

"Did Amit Shah meet Owaisi before the Bihar elections, and if they did, what was discussed and what was the deal made by them for the Bihar elections? The BJP owes an honest explanation to the people of the country about these shocking charges," Singh told reporters.

In his letter, Oza claimed that he was present at the meeting which was held "in the wee hours at Shah's residence on September 15, 2015", where it was decided that "Owaisi will spew poisonous communal speech, the script of which shall be written by Amit Shah.
