Aam Aadmi Party today accused Goa PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar of giving false information about his educational qualification in the affidavit filed before Election Commission during 2012 Assembly elections.

"Dhavalikar has claimed that he has completed BSc from Parvatibai Chowgule College in academic year 1979-80. But we would like to bring to your notice that we have the reason to believe that Dhavalikar may not have completed the said course and may not possess the degree he has claimed in his sworn affidavit," AAP Goa secretary Valmiki Naik said in a letter written to Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar.

The copies of the letter were released during press conference by the AAP leader.

Dhavalikar belongs to Maharashtravadi Gomantak Party (MGP), an ally of BJP.

AAP has requested Parsekar to make Dhavalikar clarify within 24 hours whether he indeed possesses the BSc degree as claimed by him in the affidavit, failing which he should be booked under section 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) of IPC and arrested for providing false information in a sworn affidavit.

When contacted, Dhavalikar said the information provided by him in the affidavit is "absolutely correct", but refused to elaborate.
